Earlier this month, we brought the 3Doodler EDU Bundle and the new 3Doodler Start to Austin, Texas for four days of live Doodling and education brainstorms at SXSWedu.

Our goal was to let educators get hands on with the newest models of the world's first 3D printing pen and show them how Doodling can be used to teach creativity, design, planning, building, and more.

In the end, we learned just as much as we taught! We were blown away by the ideas and enthusiasm we encountered from educators and students alike.

Here are just a few of the impressive projects we saw - all from First-Time Doodlers!

Getting Started with 3Doodler

3Doodler EDU - Life cycle of a frog

Lifecycle of a frog

One of our favorite classroom use case ideas was this Doodled lifecycle of a frog. You could easily swap in any other mammal, creature, or even product lifecycle, depending on the topic you're covering!

This windmill was created in a matter of minutes, using simple stencils from our What Will You Create? Project Book.

Our tweet shows the final project in motion!

3Doodler EDU - Windmill, with moving parts!

3Doodler EDU - Floor plans created one story at a time

To teach spatial understanding, planning, design, architecture, and more, a Doodled model of a house or structure comes in handy. Plus, look at that focus and concentration!

A new look on life, thanks to 3Doodled glasses!

Tami added her own colorful flair to a classic frame. Your students can deconstruct and recreate these glasses with ease, using the 3Doodler Workshop materials available for free on our website.

How is 3Doodler used in EDU?

We took a mini on-site survey to find the most popular uses for 3Doodler pens in the educational system, according to SXSWedu attendees. The results show that the applications vary across subject matters and grade levels. Makerspaces are a clear winner, and a growing trend! We are excited to see this list expand year on year as even more innovative educators add 3Doodler to their curricula and academic programs.

We had a blast meeting everyone, and look forward to interactions with inspiring educators at future events and workshops.

Bonus point: thanks to all of the visitors keeping our booth busy throughout the conference, 3Doodler was featured on the EdSurge S'Cool Tools roundup!

Keep sharing your ideas with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We'll repost our favorites from time to time!
