Introducing 5 inventive challenges integrating 3Doodler & LEGO

We first came across LEGO Education at SXSWedu in March 2015. Inspired by the huge impact they are making in education, we challenged our EDU team to see what would happen when we combined the world's first 3D printing pen with the world's favourite building blocks. We wanted to use LEGO to quickly construct larger [...]

Announcing the First 3Doodler Awards

When we invented the 3Doodler we imagined all kinds of uses for it. Truth be told though, what we imagined became irrelevant within hours of launching. From useful day to day applications (DIY, model making) to the sublime and super niche (contact lenses!?, decorating pipework), you flooded us with your ideas. That momentum has never [...]

Fashion X School: Personalized Badges and Stickers

There are always mixed emotions when heading back to school; excited to buy new school supplies, yet sad because summer is over and we're back to books and studying. 3Doodling Barbie Outfits: Life In Plastic, It's Fantastic!

Barbie and Ken waiting for their photoshoot "My dad used to travel a lot when I was younger, and as souvenirs he would bring me Barbie dolls from all over the world." All of them looked exactly the same, save for the differences in clothing. It was frustrating because I was never content with [...]

How to: Create joints with the 3Doodler

Drawing to Doodling I like to draw.  A lot.  Growing up, I would fill sketchbooks with all sorts of characters.  Oftentimes my favorite cartoon or comic book characters were the focus of my drawings, oftentimes it was characters that I designed myself. When I first got my 3Doodler, I was determined to [...]

50 Shades of PLA

Our plastic gets us really hot under the collar. So hot we’re thinking about making a movie about it. But before we do, we decided to get a little steamy in the kitchen... with the 3Doodler... on the floor… on the work-surfaces… all of them... in fact anywhere we could find to Doodle. Even on [...]

Etsy Artist Update: Ruth

A few weeks before our Kickstarter launched we were brainstorming how to show backers the artistic potential of 3Doodler. It occurred to us that wire art was a very close parallel, at least in look and feel, to 3Doodling. So we scoured the web and came across some truly talented wire artists on Etsy. After [...]

Bonus Packs for All!

Thank you all for your feedback! Firstly, the Hall of Fame is back up, apologies for the downtime. We should be able to handle the traffic now! But on to the plastic... There was strong demand for Glow in the Dark plastic, as well as a lot of requests for Fluorescents (and from our PLA backers, translucent plastics). For anyone clamouring for conductive plastics, we haven't yet tested these with the 3Doodler, but please note the comments about conductive paint, which can be used as a good work-around. So what's it gonna be? [...]
